Leave of Absence
I had a hard time figuring out what I was going to do for Lent this year, mostly because what God wants me to do wasn’t what I wanted to do. God wins.
So, this year, in addition to giving up all desserts/processed sugar/soda (like normal) I am both adding and subtracting from my daily routine:
1) quiet time in the morning, half an hour, prayer. I do my quiet time at night and I just don’t feel like it’s effective.
2) extremely restricted internet access:
a. No blogs at all. After I post this post, I am changing my homepage, and not checking xanga or any blogs for all of lent. Bye guys.
b. NO: homestarrunner.com, thefacebook.com, ebay.com, freeipods.com, matt’s forum, jesusfreaks forum, and any other non-essential crap.
c. Email (3 addresses) ONCE per day. Only once. Same with drudgereport.com and comics.com (I miss reading the comics in the morning).
d. No restrictions on: lab site, math site, ursa.
I think too often I overlook Easter, its significance. This year, I want to know Christ, and the power of His resurrection. Bye for a while!
