America

It really is irritating when the United States calls itself America, as if it is the only country on the continent worth mentioning. True, the United States is on the continents of North America, but we aren’t the only people habitating it. If we call ourselves America, then what are the Canadians? They also live in North America. The Mexicans? I’m ok with calling ourselves Americans, because that’s the same as someone in Germany calling themselves a European. But this fact also means that Canadians can also call themselves Americans.

Ugh. Random rant.
