Puppet Tour
“I was born a ramblin man…” Well, I was born ramblin, going every which where, but I was most certainly not born a man.
I’m back again, for a bit. Left Sunday for cousin’s, went to the dentist (very clean teeth, thank you very much) and looked at some x-rays. They’re going to have to take my wisdom teeth out in two separate surgeries. Woopty freaking doo. Oh well. Because my family is allergic to Vicodin, we get the stronger stuff…. I can’t drive while taking it, but at that point I don’t think I’ll really care…
Hopefully we’ll take them out around the end of summer/fall.
Long practice Tues. morning for puppets. Agh, sometimes I just wish I could straight up tell people that they are completely out of line and I wish they’d just go sit in a corner while everybody else gets down to business. Hey, that’s what Katie is for, discipline… Then my cousins who I saw on Monday came down and hung out with us and we played a mad game of Monopoly, Star Wars edition. My sorry butt got kicked all over the place. Oh well. The show went pretty well, but the general opinion has been that our previous shows have been more fun and upbeat, while Joseph is.. kind of slow at parts. I agree. It exhausts me, that is one involved show.
Family left Wed. which was sad, because I won’t see them for a while. Attempted to pack, but was too tired and lazy. Youth group was odd, because it finally hit me that we’re the oldest, and most of our friends have graduated. A whole new generation has taken over, as seen but —-’s purchases of N-64s and TVs. How will fellowship occur if they are buried in a video game? The realm room is full of people sitting around like bums playing video games. It may be a nonthreatening way to get people to come to youth group, but I have trouble believing that it’s going to help build us up as a group. Heck, every time my brother and sister and I play, we end up fighting with each other (at home, I have no intentions of playing the ones at church, ever).
Thursday I packed in a hurry, looked unsuccessfully for more jeans (who carries boot cut anymore that are short and not buttcrack-style low rise? I don’t mind low-rise, just not super-scandalous-check-out-my-crack-action-jeans) at several stores, and left for tour.
Tour. What can I say? I had fun. It wasn’t my all-time favorite, but I had a really good time. In short: “Shut up, ya jackass!” “Shut up, ya buttface!” “Your mamma” “He he he” “Lizabeth!” Sunburns, your mom, 80s music, seashells, waterparks, the Alphabet game, Starbursts, —— gave us kisses and hugs, duct tape awards, your mom, stop hitting me, I can’t find my gloves, I’m going to kill a freshman, hey look, an elevator, stop it —–, stop whining, the boys go in that car, you ate all the grapes!, choo choo, you know what, shut up, no chili for you, hey your mom is my mom,….
Last night we got back, and went to the Redondo Beach St. Andrew’s Youth Choir (ACTS) concert, and we took home 3 boys. On a side note, it is totally encouraging to know that there are other Christian teenagers out there who love God. It’s always encouraging to be reassured that we’re not the only ones
. That was interesting. They were a lot of fun and totally random. That’s why I love church boys. Real church boys, it doesn’t matter where they’re from, they’re essentially the same, they’re the ones that earnestly seek God, who love life and what they do, and who are crazy and random and fun, they’re so cool to hang out with. There’s this wholesomeness about a church boy, a radiance that can come only from Christ. They’re gentle in Spirit and still complete goofballs. Unlike ——, I don’t hate boys but enjoy the time I spend with the ones I know love the Lord. Mark my words, I’m gonna marry a church boy, but that’s far off; for the time being, it’s just more fun to hang out with them
.
