Short Term Goals

Hooray, we got out of school at 1:23 today!  That’s enough to make today a good day.  CAT-6 tests today were ridiculous, today we took the STAR math test.  Because they figure no junior is smart enough to be in pre-calculus, I got the “summative high school math exam.”  It had some trig, but mostly geometry and various levels of algebra.  Fun, no?  None of my friends had the stupid “b” lunch like I did, so I went into the library and chilled there for awhile, doing hw and random planning.  I really had nothing to do, for the most part.

My car is screwing up big time.  The trip odometer stopped working sometime yesterday.  So many things aren’t working, it’s rather crazy.  The passenger door won’t open, the oil light blinks all the time, the seats don’t move back and forth well, there’s a whole list of about 12 things that need to be fixed.  Oy.  But hey, it’s a car!  And here it is:

Cool, no?  I need to put the piping back on the sides and stuff, but it’s gonna be super pimpin.  When it’s hot it’s pretty rad to go cruising.

In other aspects of my life, I realized I should set some short term goals to complete before this school year gets out. They are as follows:

1. End my biblical illiteracy.  I really need to be studying His word more intensely than I have been, so I can feel more confident in my faith, and like it says, the more I dwell in it, the more it will be reflected in my life, and I can die daily.

2. Play my guitar more.  I really suck, and I should get better, so I can actually put my skills to work.

3. Make my shifting more smooth.  I was getting good there for a while, but not driving for a week didn’t help.  Back to square one.  It’s rather embarrassing when my passengers lurch after I shift out of first gear.

Monday night I went to the library to look for some stuff for my English class (which was a useless trip, because at 6 last night I had 250 pages left of Dragon’s Teeth, and I decided, hey, screw it, I have an A in that class, and I don’t have time to do this extra credit).  I like the library, it’s pretty cool.  As soon as I learn my way around downtown, I’ll try to go there more often.  I haven’t used my library card pretty much since I got it in second grade.

Then we went to A&W, that place is so good!  The root beer, oh, the root beer!  So good, I wish I had a root beer tap at my house, and I would drink root beer at every meal.

My mom gave Licia and I each a box of 5 Peeps for Easter.  After each eating one, we remembered that we can only handle about 1 Peep per year.  We were like, “uh oh, we’re stuck with 8 Peeps.”  Then, a flash of brilliance popped into my mind- let’s submit the Peeps to a battery of tests.  One will be nuked for 1 min at 10 power, another 10 min at 1 power, water submersion, sun exposure, etc.  Hopefully I can build a site that can chronicle the poor little marshmallow fowls’ journey.

On my schoolmates: As previously mentioned, no lunch with them.  Oh well.  ——– was eating with another group for a while (I guess the drama kids?) but I found out why yesterday- she’s dating this sophomore punk dude who was a tech guy at their last show.  I hope she still hangs around with us, because I’ll miss her.  She’s in my group for biology so I’ll get to hang out with her then.

Speaking of biology… until the end of the school year, we’re dissecting rats!  My group (—, ——, —-) got a male that’s, well, to put it nicely, well-endowed.  They wanted to name it Big Balls II but I was like, “Guys?”  ——’s AP bio class had Big Balls !, a cat.  Anyway, it has really nasty gold teeth, so it’s Goldmember, and he’s got the bling-bling going on and is dead sexy. (Ha, ha, ha.)
